this version is a simple setup to determine

Current Status: Unfinished, no future plans for completion.

Issues: Joke too long w/ bad audio, consider many smaller jokes.
Camera moves too slow, need CU shots. Idea probably better
achieved with live action instead of animation.

Summary:

  1. ~45-60 second movie trailer for pretend movie
  2. Super hero theme, Captain Comic is a hero who tells jokes and fights crime, sometimes simultaneously
  3. Super hero by day, stand up comic by night, Captain Comic is a "Bad Comic, Good Superhero!"

INT. COMEDY CLUB NIGHT

A COMEDIAN presents his standup comedy routine from the stage in a dark club. A few people sit at tables watching him, but otherwise unentertained. The room is poorly lit, except for the stage which is spot lit from various directions.

COMEDIAN
Stop me if you've heard this one.

The Comedian stands on center stange in front of a standing microphone. He swings his arms wide and begins telling a joke.

COMEDIAN (combination live and V.O.)
 (continuing, becomes more active in his routine)
Two guys are at a bar on top of the world trade center. One of them jumps out the window, falls three stories, and then blows back into the window. He does this two or three times, and finally attracts the other man's attention. "How'd you do that?" asks the other man.
(motioning to an imaginary window)
"There's a strong wind current blowing up the side of the building. It's powerful enough to lift a man twice your size." To demonstrate, he does it once again. The other man slams his beer,
(slamming his fist on an imaginary table)
 pauses, and dives out the window. He plummets to his death on the sidewalk below. The bartender shakes his head and says. "You know, Superman... you can be a real jerk when you're drunk."

As the comedian performs the joke, time switches between the act, and the comedian in his hero disguise as Captain Comic as he battles an evil villan. The joke continues as a V.O. As the joke comes to conclusion so does the fighting sequences, eventually ending with the villan being knocked down and the comedian looking out over a silent audience.

INT. COMEDY CLUB SIDE STAGE

The Comedian walks off stage to the side (small applause can be heard ing the background, possibly like only one person clapping). In the foreground a friend of the Comedian is standing out of view from the audience. The Comedian is walking off stage>

FRIEND
"How did you do?"

COMEDIAN
"I knocked em' dead!"

TITLE OVER:

Cut to black screen which has information about the film "This film not yet rated..."

FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

INT. DELI OVERLOOKING BUSY STREET

Inside a quaint little deli, a robber has just assulted the cash register attendant. The Comedian has just entered, but is in his super hero disguise as Captain Comic.

COMEDIAN/CAPTAIN COMIC
(grimacing and standing heroically)
"Did someone order a six foot hero?"

FADE OUT:
