Convert hard edges to smooth rounds.

In a new photoshop file, create your text black on a white background.
Flatten the layer.

Apply a slight Gaussian Blur. The amount will depend on your image resolution and your desired amount of roundness.

Using the Levels adjustment, drag the handles so that they are more limiting, like shown below.
